Warfield School Nursery

Welcome to Warfield Nursery!

I am delighted to welcome you to the Warfield School Nursery page where you will find information about our Nursery and how you can get in touch with us.

Warfield Nursery opened in September 2015. We are located in a modular building within the school grounds and have our own access path, this  makes it easy for our parents to drop off and collect their children at the beginning and end of the session. Our sessions run from 9am - 12 noon and 12 noon - 3pm

Our Nursery has two rooms and an extensive outdoor learning area in which to develop our social skills and become good learners. We have access to the school building and the school playground.

A typical nursery session will include a welcome group where children self-register, discuss the weather that day and sing our days of the week song to find out the name of the new day. After giving our children time to play and learn together we have another small group time, this teaching and learning time is topic focused. Towards the end of our session the children will gather for a story or song time before getting ready to go home.

Throughout the week the children learn early literacy and maths skills within small groups. These groups enable the children to progress at their own pace and also allows us to teach them according to their next progress steps.

Each week we produce a Nursery Newsletter which details information about the learning we have enjoyed, this can be located on the Parents tab, under Newsletters.

I am very fortunate to have three dedicated, early years qualified key workers. this allows us to have smaller key worker groups for our learning times. Our groups are named after minibeasts.

At Warfield Nursery we work closely with our parents through having open discussions at the beginning and end of the session and also more formally through parent meetings during the academic year. We have found that the children have been very settled, happy and willing to take risks to learn more and more since we opened in September. We believe this has been achieved through our calm atmosphere and the caring nature of our staff.

I hope you have enjoyed reading our Warfield School Nursery page and look forward to welcoming you to our nursery soon. Please contact us through Warfield School office.

Kind regards,

Mrs Burgisser
