June 2022
Welcome back Otters!
Welcome back to school after your half term, we hope you had a lot of fun celebrating the jubilee and are looking forward to a new term of learning.
This term we are continuing our topic ‘Pirate Panic!’
We are really looking forward to our Pirate Day adventure which will be the start of an exciting pirate themed term!
We will be continuing to find out more about life as a pirate during our pirate day and, as part of the topic, we will be using our geography skills to explore other countries and finding out about the plants that grow there through our science lessons. We will also be discovering some more pirate stories through Book Talk and making our own pirate flags in DT!
We will be continuing to build on our writing skills using verbs, adjectives and nouns to write effective sentences and ensuring we understand place value, addition and subtraction in maths.
As you can see this last half-term is packed full of fun activities and learning opportunities, some of these are on our home learning grid which you can access on our webpage. Please post your child’s home learning on Seesaw for us to share and celebrate in class.
On this page you will find:
- The home learning grid for the Summer term
- The topic grid for Pirate Panic!
- Summer term spellings
Important Information:
- P.E. days are Tuesday and Friday. Please come to school in your P.E. kit, you will wear this all day.
- Spelling Quiz is on a Thursday – you can view the spelling lists on this webpage.
- Children should only be bringing a water bottle, their lunchbox (if they are not having a school lunch) a book bag and book folders that will be provided by us.
- If someone else is collecting your child at the end of the day, we kindly ask you to let us know by email to the school office.
- Home Learning can be uploaded to Seesaw if you wish to share this with your teacher and class.
We hope you and your child enjoy the last half-term of this academic year with us in Otters class.
Kind regards,
Mrs Burgisser, Miss Cummings, Miss Johnson and Mrs Paton
