Every Autumn we usually invite parents into school to share with you learning strategies and expectations to support your child with learning in Year 5. This year we have had to record these presentations for you to view at your leisure in the comfort of your own home. Please click on the links below to view the presentation.
Welcome everyone to Tigers class page. We hope you are settling well into the new school year and have had a wonderful summer break. We're excited to share our new topic 'Hidden Treasures' which centres around the ancient civilisation of Egypt and different states of matter in science. In RE we will answering the question: is God loving and Holy?
In English, the first novel we will be reading as a class is Kick by Mitch Johnson. Kick tells the story of Budi, a young boy living on the streets of Jakata, who has big dreams of becoming a professional footballer. We will then read The Nowhere Emporium by Ross MacKenzie and Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend.
Whilst we are excited to be back, this half-term will be focused on getting back to regular school life and establishing the children's confidence in learning.
For Tigers class, PE will be on Wednesday and Thursday. Please remember that the children will need to wear their kit into school on those days.
On this page you will find:
- The home learning grid for Autumn 1 half-term and will be focused on maths and English;
- Topic grid for ‘Hidden Treasures';
- Maths Resources and Reading Lists to support learning at home.
Home Learning should be uploaded to Seesaw if you wish to share it with your teacher and class. Spellings will be tested on Monday afternoons.
