This term we will be extending our knowledge of Brazil as a South American country and building on our understanding of the Rainforest from Year Two. We will look at Brazilian settlements, customs, climate and natural resources.
In maths, we will be extending our knowledge of place value and addition / subtraction strategies while applying these skills to real-world situations and reasoning to solve problems.
We will be developing our spelling and grammar skills while writing dilemma stories based on “The Great Kapok Tree” and persuasive texts related to the fires in the Amazon.
Our P.E. days will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing as the weather becomes colder.
Homework is set for the term and can be found in the document list below. We will review homework on a Monday, while spellings will be tested on a Friday.
Hearing your child read, discussing a text together and developing times tables recall will support them greatly with the work they do in school.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working together to ensure a productive Year Four.
