We follow the Letters and Sounds programme to teach synthetic phonics. Children are taught in their classes and streamed into phases by their current phonic decoding ability, being assessed at the end of each phase or term.
This website helps parents know how to pronounce the different sounds (phonemes) that your child will be learning in school: http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/reading-owl/expert-help/phonics-made-easy Scroll down to 'Say the Sounds'.
You can download and print sound cards, words and play games from the following sites:
If you would like to know what your child will be covering in their phase, choose the correct phase from the list on the right called 'also in this section'. There are also links to some great games to play at home, and links to download the sound and word cards for each phase to read at home.
